Which glasses should you avoid with a round face?
Round frames reinforce the roundness of the face instead of balancing it. This is especially true of small round frames, which can also make the face look wider.
That does not mean round glasses are off limits. If you still want a round frame, a larger model with a thin metal frame can work better than a small, thick acetate frame.
Are there softer alternatives?
If you want something softer than an angular frame, a slim oval frame can be a compromise. Aidan and Louis have lenses that are clearly wider than they are tall, which gives a longer impression even though the lines are rounded.
