Ski Sunglasses

Tempo is Corlin’s shield-shaped sport sunglass, designed for an active fit with wide coverage and an adjustable rubber nose bridge.

Its lightweight construction and curved shield shape make Tempo a natural choice for ski trips, spring days, outdoor activities and time spent around the slopes.

For downhill skiing in cold weather, snowfall or changing visibility, we recommend ski goggles with lenses selected for the conditions.

Tempo Black Black shield sunglasses by Corlin Eyewear

Sunglasses for ski trips

Sunglasses and ski goggles serve different purposes in the mountains.

Ski goggles provide greater coverage around the eyes and are designed for downhill skiing in cold weather, wind and snowfall.

Sport sunglasses offer a lighter, more open alternative for warmer conditions and activities where ventilation is important.

Tempo works particularly well as an additional pair of eyewear for spring skiing, ski touring and time spent outside before and after skiing. Sunglasses or goggles?

Meet Tempo

Tempo is Corlin’s sport-inspired shield sunglass.

The design features one continuous curved lens across the face, a lightweight frame and an adjustable rubber nose bridge for a secure and comfortable fit.

The oversized shield measures 151 mm across, with a temple length of 145 mm and a lens height of 56 mm.

Tempo is available in three colour combinations:

Black / Black
Black frame with black lens.

Black / Blue
Black frame with blue lens.

White / Brown
White frame with brown lens.

Each pair comes with a protective hard case and box.

Shield sunglasses for the mountains

The shield shape gives Tempo a distinctly sport-inspired expression while providing wider coverage than a traditional sunglass shape.

The curved lens follows the contours of the face, while the oversized dimensions create generous coverage around the eyes.

An adjustable rubber nose bridge allows the position of the frame to be adapted for a comfortable and secure fit during movement.

Ski touring and uphill

Ski touring places different demands on eyewear during the ascent and descent.

During the ascent, the body generates more heat and an open sunglass design allows significantly more airflow around the face than a ski goggle.

The lightweight shield construction also makes Tempo easy to carry when you switch to goggles for the descent.

For this reason, sunglasses and goggles can complement each other rather than serve as alternatives throughout an entire day.

Sunglasses for spring skiing

Warmer temperatures and clear spring days are where sport sunglasses become particularly useful on a ski trip.

Tempo offers an open, lightweight alternative for time spent outside around the slopes, walking between locations, lunch in the sun and other moments when full ski goggles are unnecessary.

For downhill skiing at speed, particularly in cold, windy or snowy conditions, ski goggles provide greater protection and coverage.

Ski sunglasses or ski goggles?

The right choice depends on the activity and conditions.

Choose sport sunglasses when you want a lightweight, open design with greater airflow – for example during ski touring ascents, warmer spring conditions or time spent around the slopes.

Choose ski goggles when you are skiing downhill in cold weather, wind or snowfall, or when you need to change between lenses designed for different light conditions.

If you are packing for a full ski trip, the two can complement each other: sunglasses for warmer and more active moments, goggles for skiing in more demanding conditions.

Tempo beyond the slopes

Tempo is not limited to winter.

Its lightweight shield construction and sport-inspired design also make it suitable for running, cycling, hiking and other outdoor activities throughout the year.

The same features that make a shield useful on a spring ski trip – wide coverage, low weight and an adjustable nose bridge – also make Tempo a versatile sport sunglass away from the snow.

When ski goggles are the better choice

Sport sunglasses do not provide the same enclosed coverage as ski goggles.

In cold wind, snowfall or demanding downhill conditions, goggles provide greater protection around the eyes. They also allow you to choose different lenses according to changing visibility.

Corlin’s Reuben and Claude ski goggles use interchangeable magnetic lenses, with options ranging from Category 1–3 to clear lenses for very low light.

Questions about ski sunglasses

Can you ski in sunglasses?

Sunglasses can be useful during certain parts of a ski trip, particularly in warmer conditions and during activities such as ski touring.

For downhill skiing in cold weather, wind, snowfall or changing visibility, we recommend ski goggles.

Is Tempo designed specifically for skiing?

Tempo is Corlin’s sport sunglass rather than a dedicated ski goggle.

Its shield-shaped lens, lightweight construction and adjustable rubber nose bridge make it suitable for active use and a natural addition to a ski trip, particularly for touring, spring conditions and time spent around the slopes.

What size is Tempo?

Tempo is an oversized shield sunglass.

The frame measures 151 mm across, with a temple length of 145 mm and a lens height of 56 mm.

The rubber nose bridge is adjustable, allowing the fit and position of the frame to be adapted.

What is the difference between the three Tempo models?

The shape and measurements are the same across all three versions. The difference is the frame and lens colour.

Tempo is available in Black / Black, Black / Blue and White / Brown.

Are Tempo sunglasses UV400?

Corlin currently does not publish a UV400 specification or lens category for Tempo.

If a verified UV rating or lens category is important for your intended use, refer to the individual product specifications before choosing your eyewear.

Should I bring sunglasses or ski goggles on a ski trip?

For a full ski trip, both can be useful.

Ski goggles are the better choice for downhill skiing in cold, windy or snowy conditions. Sport sunglasses are useful for warmer weather, touring ascents and time spent outside around the slopes.

If you only bring one pair of eyewear specifically for skiing, choose ski goggles.

Can I use Tempo outside winter?

Yes. Tempo is a sport-inspired shield sunglass that can also be worn for running, cycling, hiking and other outdoor activities.

Its design is not limited to skiing or winter use.
