Which glasses suit a small face?

A small face suits glasses that are narrow overall and have moderately sized lenses. The frame should be about as wide as your face and not stick out past your cheeks. How narrow are the frames?

Total width is the measurement that tells you most about whether a frame suits a small face. For comparison, our widest frames, Todd and Will, are 145 millimeters.

How do I know which size I need?

The easiest way is to start from a pair of glasses that fit you well. Measure the total width straight across the front, or read the measurements on the inside of the temple, and compare with the table above.

If your current glasses are about 135 to 140 millimeters wide, Celia, Aidan and Selma are a good fit. If they are clearly narrower than 135 millimeters, even our narrowest frames may feel large.

Glasses for narrow faces

A narrow face is often also a little longer than it is wide. The same rule applies to the width: the frame should not be wider than your face.

The lens height, on the other hand, can be a little larger, because tall lenses cover more of the length of the face and create balance. Celia has 46 millimeter tall lenses and therefore suits narrow, long faces well.

Can you wear large glasses with a small face?

Yes, if the width is right. Large lenses can work even on a small face, as long as the frame is not wider than the face. It is usually the total width, not the size of the lenses, that makes a frame look too big.
