What are blue light filter glasses?
Blue light filter glasses are glasses with a filter against part of the blue-violet light. They are also called blue light glasses, blue light blocking glasses, anti blue light glasses or blue blockers. The filter is built into the lens and is barely visible, so the lenses look like regular clear lenses. At Corlin, every pair of blue light glasses has CR39 lenses with a blue light filter and UV400, which blocks 100 percent of UVA and UVB rays. They come with or without prescription. Blue light glasses without prescription
Our non-prescription blue light glasses have clear lenses with a blue light filter. They suit you if you see well without glasses but want the filter at your screen, or if you simply like the frame. They are sometimes called computer glasses or screen glasses without prescription. All of them cost 1,299 SEK and can be returned within 30 days.

Blue light glasses with tinted lenses
If you want a little color in the lenses, there are blue light glasses with light grey lenses or a brown gradient that is darker at the top and lighter at the bottom. The filter and the UV protection are the same as in the clear lenses. Read more about tinted glasses.

If you need prescription glasses, you can have a blue light filter in them too. Choose an optical frame, choose prescription lenses and then the Blue Light lens function, which costs 300 SEK extra. The lenses start at 895 SEK, with anti-reflective and scratch-resistant coating always included.
Blue Light can be added to both Standard lenses for everyday use and Terminal lenses for the computer. A complete pair with prescription and Blue Light starts at 2,494 SEK.

What is blue light?
Blue light is the part of visible light with the shortest wavelength and the most energy, roughly 380 to 500 nanometers. The blue-violet part sits closest to UV light.
The biggest source of blue light is the sun. Screens, phones and LED lamps give off blue light too, but much less. According to the researchers behind a 2023 Cochrane review, the eyes get about a thousandth as much blue light from screens as from daylight.
Do blue light glasses work?
The blue light filter does what it is designed to do: it filters part of the blue-violet light. What the research questions is whether that makes a difference to your eyes.
A 2023 Cochrane review looked at 17 randomized trials. It concluded that blue light filtering glasses probably do not reduce eye strain from computer work, at least in the short term, and it could not show that they improve sleep. That is why we do not promise that blue light glasses will make your eyes less tired.
Many people choose blue light glasses anyway, because they like the frame, want clear lenses with UV protection or prefer a filter at the screen. If your eyes often get tired at the computer, the cause may be that you need a prescription for screen distance. Then computer glasses are often what makes the difference, and an eye exam at an optician will show what you need.

The terms are used loosely. Computer glasses can mean both non-prescription blue light glasses and prescription lenses for screen distance. This is how our options differ.

Do blue light glasses help with sleep?
There is no reliable evidence for it. The 2023 Cochrane review could not show that blue light filtering glasses improve sleep.
